Using images in WordPress app in iPad mini
-
How/ can I edit size of images, align, and create image galleries in the WordPress app on my iPad mini? It's not obvious how to ATM and I can't sit up to use a laptop ATM due to dizziness

Hi rossamor25,
In the editor, once you've added an image to a post you can tap on the image to edit it. The edit screen will let you specify things like size and alignment of the image.
Galleries are a bit tricky, and the app doesn't have great support for them (yet), so they take a bit of effort. You can add a gallery manually by typing a gallery shortcode, and listing the image IDs to include in the gallery. To get the image IDs, you'll need to save your post as a draft, then perform the following steps for each image you want to add to the gallery:
- insert an image and let it upload to your blog,
- tap to edit the image
- on the image details screen, find the image's ID.
- copy the id.
- back in the editor, delete the image
- add the image's ID into the gallery shortcodeWe want to make this *much* easier and intuitive in the future.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for your reply Eric
I've tried what suggested for alignment and sizing images and it seems ok except when I preview my post, all the images still seem to be aligned to the left and the block-quoted text isn't displaying. Would be great if I could get used to the app to work as it's much easier than working on the website in safari!
I mean the text doesn't appear to be in block-quotes though you can still see the text. Could this just be due to the preview function?

A quick check shows that blockquotes are indenting for me, but when I try to align an image to the right, its still showing left aligned in the preview. That's a bug we need to fix so thanks for mentioning it!
I'm not sure what to say about the blockquotes. Do you have a sample post I could look at?
Cheers!

I haven't posted the post I was working on as it was just a practice post, playing about with app. I'm hoping my posts will just appear ok when I publish them!
Do you mean show you the draft? I'm not sure how I could show you a draft in my app without publishing it?

Quick follow up...
Fixing the alignment but in https://github.com/wordpress-mobile/WordPress-iOS/issues/6384

No worries! Let's see how it appears when you publish it.

Thanks for taking the time to address my issue with the preview function:). Am now working on a proper post, will post a link to it here when I've published it

This is the post I wrote using the WordPress app http://ldifme.org/2017/01/16/new-year-new-opportunity-cards-4-invest-in-me/
All the images seem fine, I didn't use any block-quotes
