1. Dear Wordpress
I love the wordpress apps, however, we have a self-hosted wordpress website where users submit their blogs, comment each others work etc.
Is there any way (instructions) how to 'bypass' the 'your self-hosted url' and have the App directly login in our website? Is there a way to modify the apps in that way?
    Thank you very much

  2. Anyone? Please?
    Thank you

  3. Hi there! @Humiges

The WordPress mobile app allows you to connect both and self-hosted WordPress sites. If you only want to use the app to connect to a single "self-hosted" site, you can do that as well.

In that case, please open the app and tap on "Log In". Then, select the "Log in by entering your site address". Type your site's address and use your site's credentials to log in. Bear in mind that you only have to log in once, unless there's a change on your login credentials.

After you log in, the app will open directly in the "My Sites" section and will only load the site you just connected, with the exception being that you connect more sites later.

Let me know if you have further questions!

  4. Dear @Nello

thank you for your kind reply.
My problem is that I need to bypass this... I have a community wordpress website, so, I would like users to open the app and login straight into my website.
Is that even possible? Can I download the Android and iOS core apps and modify them in this way?
    Thank you very much

  5. PS: so, no selection of"Log in by entering your site address" would be necessary.

  6. Hi @Humiges,

The WordPress app will use the same credentials you use to log in to your site through the WP Admin page, so the log-in screen can't be bypassed. That is, your users will need to have a user role on your site before they can log in and use the app with your site.

    >Can I download the Android and iOS core apps and modify them in this way?

Both the Android and iOS are Open Source and you can find them and contribute on GitHub, in case you'd like to take a look: - however I believe you'll need to create your own app that will somehow connect to your site using a different method.

  7. Thanks a lot @Nello
    much appreciated :)
