Pages issue

  1. I've read some of the other topics about this in the previous version but I thought it was resolved in version 2. The number of pages that the iPhone app can detect is limited by the number of blog posts displayed on my sites front page. I'm running the latest stable version of WordPress on nginx if that makes a difference. Any help appreciated.

  2. Yes - a bug that has not been fixed. May be in the WP core rather than the app. I don't have an eta on a fix but will check.

  3. So is there any way to have the app display more than 10 pages? I can only get to the 10 most recent pages. Anyway around this?

  4. As I tested this, I found that the number that controls the number of blogs posted on the front page controls this. If you're willing to to change that number the answer is yes, if not, no (for now) until we fix the issue in the core or find a way to modify the app around this...

  5. I have changed my number of posts to be 50 and I
still don't have any more than 10 pages. I even deleted the blog and then added it
again. Still no luck. Is this a caching issue or something? I really need to
be able to edit all my pages.

    Any ideas?

When this was originally reported to us, John was able to identify it as a bug in WordPress core (that's WordPress that runs on your web server), including 2.8.5, the current version of WordPress.

This has been fixed, though, and I was able to verify that fix by testing WordPress 2.9, currently in development.

The fix is now live for all users on WordPress.com. If you're currently running self-hosted WordPress on your own server, this will be fixed once WordPress 2.9 is available.

  7. Well that's great news. Thank you for the information.

Any idea on when we may see WP 2.9?

    Thank you

  8. Thanks Matt!

  9. The next bug hunt for 2.9 is next weekend so I think 2.9 should be out early/mid December.

EDIT: This is just a guess. Don't go around quoting me now! One of the devs will know better.

I have to say, I just updated my blog to the 2.9 beta and am still not getting all of my pages. I have 20, but am only getting 10. Kinda depressing lol.

Am I missing something? Or will there be a new app release once 2.9 goes live?

(yes I understand the risks of using a beta version and I welcome any bugs with open arms)

  11. ChaosFromAbove,

    Try this:

On main view, touch "Edit" and then touch the name of your blog.

You will be taken to the Edit Blog screen. Touch done on the popup keyboard and touch the "Show" cell which probably says 10 Recent Posts.

Select a larger number and navigate out of the screen by touching the save button. The app should autorefresh from your blog at this point.

Let me know if you can now see more pages...

Nope...still only see 10 pages, also just update the app to 2.1

  13. Your lucky to see any pages at all. All my pages are blank. I'm using wordpress.com I don't know if this is an issue or not. Can anyne help?

  14. I am having the same issue - my pages are blank on the page screen. I have the 3 pages showing but they have (no title) showing and are empty if I tap on them.

    Anyone able to help?

Jedijoff, Spuddey -- that was a separate issue specific to WordPress.com blogs. It was fixed earlier today, so the next time you open the app, your Page titles should re-appear after it's finished syncing (when the spinner at the top of the Pages screen has finished doing its thing).

  16. Thanks Matt finally someone to offer some insight only took four days

ChaosFromAbove -- you're right. There appears to be a hard limit of 10 pages, despite choosing a higher value in the blog setup. I'd call that a bug, and I'll file a ticket. Thanks for pointing it out!
