NSXMLParserErrorDomain error 5

  1. Hi, I just upgraded to Wordpress 2.6 for iPhone 4.

After I upgraded to 2.6, I got a communication error for the username and password so I deleted the blog from the app, then added it again.

This time, no communication error for username/pass but I'm getting an Communication Error "NSXMLParserErrorDomain error 5" on my wordpress.org self-hosted blog.

    Any thoughts?

  2. I am having this exact same error. Only happens when trying to view my Posts.

Comments and Pages both work fine. When trying to load posts I get the error every single time.

  3. Emily, please try deleting and reinstalling the app. That has worked for a majority of users experiencing this issue.

    Hey Chris -

I am having the same exact problem/error message - so I deleted and reinstalled the app - and it is still doing it.

I am using the app for a self hosted blog - if that helps.

It only happens when trying to view my Posts. Comments and Pages both work fine. When trying to load posts I get the error every single time.

What do I do? How do I fix? Is there a way to go back to the previous version until the bugs are gone??

    Thanks,

    N.Bumpercar

  5. Exact same situation as nattybumpercar in every way!

  6. Exactly the same problem
deleting and reinstalling does not correct this issue

It's happening only on my Posts page
comments and pages are fine, although pages is SLOW

  7. Thanks, Chris. I tried deleting and reinstalling the app. Right now, it's working on one of my WP blogs but not the other two. I'm wondering if it's a plugin issue and am going to try turning them off/on.

However, I'm having the same problem as the other three commenters where I only get the error on Posts but not Comments and Pages.

    Thoughts?

  8. I only get the error when it's attempting to refresh the posts page. I did a test post and it published to my site (ignoring that it was supposed to be "pending review"), then the app blinked and returned to the posts page, which it couldn't refresh and resulted in the NSXMLParserErrorDomain error 5.

  9. Exactly the same here - can view comments and pages fine however get the NSXMLParserErrorDomain error 5 when viewing posts on the iPhone 4 (iOS 4.0.1)

Real pain as a lot of our posts are done on location and tomorrow we are supposed to be documenting a nuclear facility :(

Everything was working fine pre upgrade so it has to be something with the new app really

    Anyway to help diagnose?

  10. Same issue here! Tried delete and reinstall...did not help. Also tried plugins. Still no workie. :)

  11. I've removed all plugins also, tested RPC response that works fine... I'm going to delete the app and sync with macbook to get the old app back until such time that this one is confirmed fixed

  12. I've just removed the new app from the iPhone 4 and used the old app from iTunes - everything works perfectly once again.

Its the new app thats broken - lets hope the developers fix it quickly!!!

  14. I am so happy I'm not the only one having this issue with the latest Wordpress app. I was going to choke my install if it was something I hosed....

  15. Any update from the developers please?

    Hey talkurbex -

    According to their blog . . .

    http://ios.wordpress.org/2010/10/02/version-2-6-issues/#comments

    ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

They are aware of our little problems - and - are working to solve them.

Until it is fixed - I suppose that I'll just keep on hitting the "Check for Updates" button in iTunes over and over and over and over and over.

I miss my little iPhone Blog-pal Buddy.

  17. Hi everyone --

We know these bugs are painful -- and hoping that it's working well now for everyone with the latest 2.6.1 update.

If you are still having issues after upgrading to 2.6.1, please start new threads and include:
    - Steps to reproduce the bug or problem
    - If you are running your site on WordPress.com or self-hosted WordPress ( and which version )
    - if self-hosted WP, which hosting provider
    - The URL to your site

    Thanks.
