Notifications not appearing for certain blogs

  1. I have several sites, all connected to Jetpack using the same login information. For some reason, and it's been this way for months, a few of my sites do send push notifications for new comments, but they do not appear in the Notifications view in the app. The comments do appear in the site's comment tab, but they should show up in the Notifications view as well, but they're not. I've tried signing in and out, uninstalling and reinstalling: all to no avail. Any idea what's going on there?

  2. Hi, do they show in the notifications view in the admin bar? (either on your site, or wordpress.com)
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/notifications/

  3. I didn't have the notifications module in Jetpack turned on on that site. I just turned it on, but they're not there historically (maybe because it won't record a notification if the module isn't active?). Is the mobile push notifications module dependent on the notifications module? If so, wouldn't it make sense to have a notice to that effect?

  4. but they're not there historically (maybe because it won't record a notification if the module isn't active?)

That sounds correct, new notifications should show up there. Push notifications don't technically "depend" on notifications, but they can be quite confusing if they lead you to a blank screen instead of the comments list. We'll look into that

  5. Well, the notification would come through OK, but when I opened the notification, it took me to the Notifications screen, but the comment wasn't there. Since turning on the Notifications module in Jetpack as well, it works just fine, which seems to imply that at least in this instance, the Push Notifications module was dependent on the Notifications module. It's working for me now though, so it's not too much of an annoyance.
