Attached Images Not Triggering CDN Sync Tool

Not sure if this is a feature request or a troubleshooting issue, but…

Briefly, I have a site set up to host my own mobile images rather than use twitpic, etc. I want to use Amazon S3 to host the images. Everything works fine if I upload the image from a browser, either to the media library or as an attachment on a post. The CDN Sync Tool copies the upload to my s3 bucket with no problem.

However, when I use the iOS app, something in how it's being attached doesn't trigger the CDN Sync Tool plugin, as if it doesn't know the image was attached.

Any suggestions on what hook is being used or something to check on the plugin side, or is it possible that something in the iOS app isn't firing the right action?
