App crash trying to upload images

  1. Hello,
    I'm experiencing problems with the last version of Wordpress (4.6) in my iPad. App crash when I try to upload images. I use an iPad 3 with iOS 7.0.2.
    I have read some related posts but I'm not sure if is the same problem.

  2. Thanks for the report SaBuscador. When you relaunch the app after a crash, if it prompts you to send us a crash report, please do. It will help us fix the problem.

  3. I have gathered more detailed info:
    - Wordpress self-hosted v3.5.1
    - iPad3
    - iOS 8.1.2
    - Worpdress app 4.6.0.2

    Error description: the app crash when the user push the image button in the post edition screen.
    Do you know if could be related with the Wordpress version? or may be some error with the iOS version?

    Eric, the user has sent information after the crash through the promt "send report" as you suggest.

    Moreover we have reviewed the xmlrpc calls in the wordpress server and all of them returns 200 http code.

    Another question, is it possible to downgrade wordpress app version in an iPad?

    Thanks for the extra info. If this is the same as the crash I'm thinking of, then it will be fixed in version 4.6.1, currently waiting on Apple's approval. We're hoping to be able to release it sometime during the first few days of January, but it depends on when Apple gives us the go ahead.

    I'm 99% sure this is a bug in the app, and not with the version of WordPress running on the user's site, or with the version of iOS. You can see here for more details: https://github.com/wordpress-mobile/WordPress-iOS/pull/2950

    Excellent. That's always best. We really watch for those reports.

    Only if the user has previously backed up their device, and can restore from a back up that does not include the most recent version. Otherwise, only the version that is currently in the iTunes App Store is available.
