Upgraded to version 3.1 and Stats not working

  1. I'm running a self-hosted site and I'm using my WordPress.com credentials for the Stats.
    This worked perfectly.

After upgrade to version 3.1, I receive error "There was a problem connecting to your Stats. would you like to retry? Cancel / Retry?".

I tried to sign out and sign in again, close the app, doesn't help.

    Best, Herman

  2. I'm getting the same on both my iPhone 3GS and iPad 2. Both devices are running iOS 6 Beta 4 if it makes any difference.

The beauty is I can load up the dashboard inside the app to view the stats, but in an ideal would the built in stats would work. Hope it can get fixed soon :)

    Regards, Ben Hodder

  3. Same here, I thought maybe I had done something wrong as I just started with wordpress today, but I have jet pack and I can see stats in the dashboard -> jet pack -> stats, but it doesn't work from the main screen stats button. Wierd.. I hope they fix it.

  4. Same.... Real time stats is the most important tool I use on this platform and am pretty bummed.

  5. I have the same issue. I keep getting 'Sign in failed. Please try again'. when I try to log on to the stats feature on my iPhone 4. I don't know why there is a separate log on page for stats. I have had no trouble signing in or using the rest of the app.

It would be nice to be able to use the stats feature.

  6. We're talking a look at the stats issue. Thanks for your patience! In the meantime please view them via @HoddzDJ's method.

  7. @celayne - do you have Jetpack installed? It's required for stats along with a WordPress.com login.

  8. I have got the same issue. It used to work with the previous version of the App. I have the latest version of Jetpack installed. I can see in the Wordpress dashboard that my hosted wordpress site is connected to Wordpress.com.

    Same problems here!

  10. I can't reproduce this with any of my blogs that are running Jetpack. Would one of you mind temporarily changing the password on both your self-hosted and WordPress.com login so that I can test? Won't do anything naughty I promise :)

You can shoot the login details to mobile@automattic.com if you want to help. Thanks.

Our IT people suggest uninstalling Jetpack and reinstalling - it worked for us!

  12. Oh, interesting. Is everyone here running the latest version of Jetpack?

  13. I also had to delete and reinstalll Jetpack to make it work…

I can't see the country maps though. Everything else seems to work well…

  14. I've just tried a few things, and I have set them out below.

    1. Disable Jetpack, exit Wordpress app and force close it. Open web browser to enable Jetpack. Re-open Wordpress app and load stats. Outcome - fail.
    2. Disable and remove Jetpack, exit Wordpress app and force close it. Open web brower to install, activate and connect to Wordpress.com. Open Wordpress app and load stats. Outcome - fail.

I'm running the latest version of Wordpress and the latest version of Jetpack. I'm still doing all of this on a iOS6 build though, not sure if that would be the problem? Beta 4 if it makes any difference.

    Regards, Ben Hodder.

  15. im running latest version of wordpress and jetpack, i tried to uninstall and reinstall jetpack, didn´t work!

    please we nedd a solution!

  16. It looks like there is a bug that could cause the app to use the wrong credentials to connect to Jetpack. We have a fix to include in an update but in the meantime you might try deleting and reinstalling the app. This would let you enter the Jetpack credentials fresh and ensure they're the right ones.

  17. I tried it. Now I can't login anymore. I using my stats by mobile site http://wordpress.com/#!/my-stats/ but the app is not accepting my password,

  18. I'm running Wordpress iOS 3.1 with Jetpack on my self-hosted site. I'm getting a few errors on iOS.

    1. Posts: Couldn't sync, Blog returned invalid data.
    2. Stats: Error, there was a problem connecting to your stats. Would you like to retry?

Any idea how this can get fixed?

    Thanks,
    Michel

  19. I have just tried uninstalling / reinstalling the App as suggested by Eric, to force entry of credentials. The error connecting to stats still occurs (and yes, I'm sure I got the credentials right! :-))

  20. Hey guys. I managed to solve the problem. I just de-activated the Jetpack plugin, then activated it again. It then, as it should, ask me to connect to the Wordpress.com site, and bang - stats working again !

Hopefully this also works for you all.

    Tom

  21. Hi Tom.

    It not worked for me.

    Thanks

  22. Good evening Tom. This didn't solve the problem for me. Glad it has worked for you though! Fingers crossed the box fixed app will be approved by Apple soon.

    Regards, Ben Hodder

  23. Hey, just wanted to report the deactivating and reactivating worked on my instance, thanks for the idea and good luck to those that are still waiting.
    Cheers,
    Bryan

  24. I'm having the same issue.

Even after deactivating and reactivating the jetpack plugin (and logging in to wordpress.com) I'm not able to access the stats anymore.

Using the latest version of both the WP Jetpack plugin and the IOS app.
This worked fine before the 3.1 upgrade.

    cheers Niclas

  25. @sbaggs @HoddzDJ @nwestling Would either of you but up for helping us troubleshoot a bit the way @dan suggested in his post above:

...Would one of you mind temporarily changing the password on both your self-hosted and WordPress.com login so that I can test? Won't do anything naughty I promise :)

You can shoot the login details to mobile@automattic.com if you want to help. Thanks.

  26. Eric, I will shoot them over to you now.

    Regards, Ben Hodder.

  27. Email sent :)

    Regards, Ben Hodder.

  28. Either Eric has performed so voodoo work on my account or changing your blog password and/or Wordpress.com password does the trick. Just changed the passwords and checked the apps and they work perfectly.

    Regards, Ben Hodder.

  29. @HoddzDJ Not sure what voodoo that might be, but I'm glad you can access your stats now :-)

For my part, I was able to reproduce the error you were seeing, find the cause, and fix it in the app. It will be included in the upcoming hot-fix.

Its seemed like a lot of the trouble with the stats feature has been around authentication so maybe changing your credentials on that front did something as well.

Regardless, many thanks for helping to sort this one out!

  30. Thanks for the quick bug fix to the app!!

It's now working well again :-)

    cheers Niclas
