Update from the Wordpress folks?

  1. Hey guys, I know you're under the gun and working hard, but I was wondering if you might be able to just sort of check in and give us a little status update in regard to the issues we're having in the latest 2.6 . I know there are a few of us that are sort of going crazy (possibly even a little unreasonably), but it might help us if we get some kind of idea of what to expect, in terms of a time-line for some of these issues. Thanks for your hard work and I hope this hasn't come off as too pushy.

    Nathan

  2. Also, for the new MSN space users who are discovering WordPress and have problems with the iOS app, it would be nice to hear from the WordPress folks. Good for acceptance of the migration to WordPress.

  3. Hey guys, sorry you're having problems with the app. Version 2.6 has an unfortunate issue that can cause crashes for users running iOS 3.13 or lower. We have a bugfix version, 2.6.1, that resolves this issue. It has been submitted to Apple, is currently in review, and should be out any day now.

Thank you for your patience, and we apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

  4. Thanks for the update, Chris. Does this fix also include a remedy for those of us with iOS 4.1 who have had crashing issues (like on video uploading), etc?

  5. Hypernayte, yes it addresses the issues a lot of people are having trying to upload videos. However, if you're trying to upload to a WordPress.org self-hosted blog/site, you'll want to make sure you have the following in your root .htaccess:

    php_value memory_limit 128M
    php_value upload_max_filesize 128M
    php_value post_max_size 128M
    php_value max_execution_time 120

You may need to adjust these numbers depending on the size of the video you are trying to upload. Also, some hosts might override these limits. Currently I don't think there's anything we can do about that part, but we're looking into alternatives. And there's always VideoPress.
