Hi,
I've recent installed WP 2.8.2 on my iPhone and iPad and I can't publish an arcticle with photo. WP includes the following code to my page in the place that the photo should be:
a href=http://blog.requinte.com.br/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/20110630-062200.jpgimg src=http://blog.requinte.com.br/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/20110630-062200.jpg alt=20110630-062200.jpg class=alignnone size-full //a
It happens on both iDevices.
Help !

Hi,
I have exactly the same problem on my blog hosted on my home server.
But with another blog hosted on a 1and1 server, it works !
So I think the problem is on the blog configuration, not with the app.
UP ! Please

I'm using an iPad and am suddenly having this exact same issue. It's like the angled brackets around the a href tags get removed. I've also suddenly had apostrophes disappearing from posts. This is all new, the blog was working fine until a few days ago.
The only way I can get images to properly post is to delete the mangled image code, then log into the web based admin page. From the post I, I can get the add image pop up window open, then click the Gallery tab and all the images I have uploaded for the post show up. I have to go through them one by one and click the Add to Post button. It's a real pain to have to do for posts with multiple images.
I don't know what would have changed on my server overnight for the server end to be the issue.
As for the disappearing apostrophes, I just want to get this issue fixed before I worry about that. But it is weird that they both started at the same time...just a few days ago.

Howdy folks, this sounds like the libxml2 problem to me which can be resolved by updating your PHP version in most cases. There'a also a plugin that can also if you can't upgrade your PHP version yourself:

Hi,
I'm having exactly the same problem. I just installed the plugin and still no good, I can't upload photos to my blog from my 3GS. Do I perhaps need to reinstall the app?
Help! Blogging from China without photos is no fun!

Hi, mrroundhill.
I've a shared domain, so I can't update PHP by myself.
Then I've installed your plugin, but it doesn't work .... Should I restart or something like that ?Tks.

@fgalvani70 - If the plugin doesn't help, I would contact your hosting provider for further assistance.

I'm finally back in the states and am starting to try and look into this. While traveling, I was able to upload the libxml2 plugin to my server with my iPad by downloading a couple of apps. It didn't fix the problem.
My host is running:
PHP: 5.2.17
Libxml: 2.6.32Is this combination one that causes the missing brackets problem?

Update: I figured out why the libxml2 plugin wasn't working for me.
The plugin is code looks is written to look for specific PHP and libxml2 versions that are different than what my host is running.
I changed the version in the plug in code to my host's config (noted in previous post) and the plugin now works. Have tested uploaded several images and they all appear normally.
So, if the plugin is not working to you, this may be a fix that could work.
Posts are still losing apostrophes when posted with the iOS app. Will have to open a new thread for that problem.

Many Thanks to trabant66!
I followed your suggestion and it worked with-out any problems!
I posted a somewhat detailed how-to on a related post:

@trabant66 - Thanks for reporting the solution. We will update the plugin in the .ORG repository asap.
