iPad add- password user name doesn't work

When I input the username and password I use on my Mac into the iPad app it fails, I have also tried the username and password that I use to admin my site, any suggestions?

Hi Sean --

Are you on WordPress.com or self-hosted WordPress ? If the latter, which version ? And what's the URL of your site ?

Be sure when you are adding the blog that you pick "WordPress.com" if it's on WordPress.com -- and "WordPress.org" if it's self-hosted.

Seem to have the same issue with my ipad on self-hosted wordpress blog at http://thusgaard.com. I'm using version 3.0.1 of wordpress on my blog.

same issue here... assuming if I'm hosted by Godaddy, then I should be selecting self hosted blog. Same username and password used on computer doesn't work on ipad.

I am having the same issue with the ipad.. i enter the username and password and then it asks for :
"XML-RPC endpoint not found please enter it manually."

So i try to enter it as: mysite.com/htdocs/directoryname/ (is that correct???) but before i can do anything else it just says incorrect username and password. and the blog is not saved.
I have already enabled xmlrpc and atom remote publishing in writing settings in the blog.

Pls help!!

and just to clarify on post before i am on self hosted wordpress and i chose the correct .org to login.

Same problem, trying to log into self-hosted blog enter myblogdomain/xmlrpc.php in the XML-RPC field, ensured that settings under writings is selected on word press dashboard but.... No enchilada? Any ideas?

Having same issue-- used my admin login for my blog and my WP.org credentials. No bueno. What's going on here?

same issue here. has anyone successfully accessed the admin function of their website using safari on any mac/apple product? i am getting no joy with iphone, ipad, or macbook pro.

similar issue here:

After the first screen, I seem to be ok (it says Authentication successful).

After that, I have a popup that says: Communication Error - Bad user name or password

PS: I'm running Wordpress 3.0.3 and I did activate Atom and XML-RPC.

I'm a little late to the thread, but some of the XML-RPC issues have been fixed in version 2.6.3 of the WP for iOS app. Please let me know here if you're still having issues with signing in and we'll investigate further.

Also please post what version of WP you're using (if self-hosted).

I am on a non-self hosted blog. I am running 2.6.3. Only one of my blogs does not log in. It comes up when I log in to add blog. But then to get all my post or to post new ones it has Bad URL. Thanks for your hard work on this.

Non-self hosted, do you mean a WordPress.com blog? If you could give me a bit more detail on what the error message says specifically, and maybe the URL you're trying to enter, I might be able to help you further.

I'm having the same problem, Communication error - bad URL but I know my username and password are correct.

It just says "bad URL"

When I log in to add the blog it adds it. But to post or get my older post or comments it will not bring them up
