Couldn't sync posts

  1. FYI: the bad boy in my case was the hoster. evanzo.de does not support the XML-RPC protocol. That means no Wordpress-App support for blogs hosted on eanzo. End of story.

  2. I am also getting the expected (200-299), got 403 error, but XML-RPC is enabled. I've always had the same server host and I was able to update using the app, but I've only been having this problem since I updated WordPress (Although admittedly, I haven't posted in a while). I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app and that is when I started getting this error.

  3. My blog is at http://www.sutaru.net, by the way. o.o;

  4. I'm having very same issues, deleted the app once and re-installed with no luck, still getting same message

  5. I've been having this problem for months. I can't connect to the site with my iOS devices since the 3.0 update. Months now that I can't effectively do my work. I did the debug, my site admin updated the plugins and still nothing. Any word on a good fix or even an app update to solve this?

  6. hi,

same problems. tried the suggested plugin deactivation for the only plugin i reinstalled before the problems arose: jetpack. results: negative.
at first sight there are no problems in accessing pages though, but i'm not sure.
i only use the app for uploading photo's to the image library. i could do that using the page section too. but the uploading stops halfway and never finishes.
my problem would be history if i could upload photo's from my ipad using the browser-interface via my ipad.

  7. hi again, two days later,

it's obvious - imho - that the problem discussed on this page, is not one of individual forum-members. it's a problem of many people in very different circomstances - all of whom had the app working correctly on their devices until recently the mentioned problems arose.
so we might assume something is wrong with the latest version of the wordpress app. i therefore don't believe in server-side solutions as suggested by a.o. admin @daniloercoli of this forum.
i'm afraid we will all have to wait for an update of the app. or: for making the earlyer versions available again. the latter should be quick and easy.

  8. For those of you receiving a 403 error, I suggest contacting your provider and ask if they are blocking the xmlrpc.php file. I did and it turns out they were. They unblocked it and my Wordpress for iOS login problems have disappeared.

  9. I finally found an old wordpress app in a backup I had and just installed it, have had not problems since doing that

  10. @d8thnote please please give us a link to download old wordpress app, already sync my iphone to itunes recently so i dont have the old version in back up

  11. I don't have a link, I had it in my backup.

  12. Did the 3.1 update help your issue?

  13. @dan just upgrade few minutes ago and it works like a charm

lesson learned : i save wordpress 3.1 file in two different folder now (other than in itunes mobile applications folder itself), just in case the future update not as expected

  14. The wordpress update also fixed my login issue. :D

  15. I am using an iPhone for wordpress. I have just recently received this problem but a few days ago, my site had stopped working on me from some error to connect with the server on my wordpress app. And when I went on safari to try to fix the problem, my site would not work, along with not being able to get on to the dashboard.
When I try to sign in with wordpress with my email, it would lead me to a SSL error. But when I login with my username: india182 it logs me in though i still have no access to my dashboard or my blog.

    Please help!!

I'm on a computer now but still haven't gotten the answer to the problem. the sad thing is that I couldn't even get on my own forum on WP on my iPhone from an error to not be able to open the page. The wordpress app continues to say error to connect to server and my safari continues to not be able to open the page.

The ability to open to my site is fine on the computer and I'm able to get on my dashboard now but it continues to stay the same with my iPhone though all my other applications that require internet are working fine.

    Still need some answers please!

  16. btw, for the WP app version is 3.1.1

  17. Some Service Providers in India have started blocking WordPress.com recently, that should explain your connection issue.

  18. Unbelievable that this is still an issue. It sucks trying to work properly with an app/program that doesn't work. I even went through the troubleshooting steps Witt the debug and no one responded on where I need to send the info.

  19. @ColombianLove - Could you please send the log file to mobile [at] automattic [dot] com one more time. Your message may have been mistakenly marked as spam by the anti-spam filter.

  20. Hi guys,

When I try to access my Posts or Pages through the app I get the error

    Couldn't sync

    Bad login/pass combination

Can anyone help me out and advise why this is occurring?

  21. Hi glorypunter,
Same happening to me using Wordpress app on iPad. Everything works ok on main computer and also via Blogsy but I now can't post or edit on Wordpress / iPad. I get 'couldn't sync / bad login /pass combination'.
If I then try and log out the app tells me I have been timed out and to try again in a few minutes, and if I do that, nothing changes. I'm travelling soon and won't be able to edit from the computer, and Blogsy won't do everything I need.
    Advice welcome..

  22. For the bad login/pass error:

    Go into Settings
Tap the blog you're having trouble with
    Update both username and password
    Try again

Alternatively try to delete the entire app and reinstall from scratch, in some occasions that helps.

For 403 errors: this means the site or the resource requested by the app could not be accessed from the app, which would cause it to fail. As someone mentioned in this thread earlier, this is most likely an issue with the website host not supporting the XML-RPC API or has restrictions around usage. Contact your host.

  23. sorry to revive a dead thread, but im still havign that problem and my posts are being doubled (but that only shows on the app thank goodness) but the duplicated blog posts are however different revisions so i dont know what one to write on
