3.0.1 could not connect my SSL site

  1. My SSL site is using Self-Signed Certificates.
Why 3.0.1 would not let me to trust my own site?

  2. I'm having the same problem.

  3. Any thing can help?

  4. From what was said in this post, the problem might be fixed in 3.0.1... But they also I'd that update would be out a few weeks ago.

  5. hi Arch,

Already suffering a few weeks with the same problem...
The stupid thing is, BEFORE version 3.0 there was no problem at all, it worked flawless.

But for some reason (I checked all 'solutions') it just fails.

3.0.1 did not bring any solution.

  6. Chinese network service providers disables http default port (80 out) for all users for some reason (from my view it's to shut us up).
So if you do want to built a website for your family in your house, you have to find a alternative solution.
In my case, I use a Self-Signed Certificates (it's just a family server) and use HTTPS port (443 out) to run my site, and use https://www.imzhao.net to access it.
My question is simple. All browsers will ask you and make it trust the site or not. But why this app is just telling:

The certificate for this server is invaild......which could put your confidential information at risk.

    mattijn,
I don't know how the previous versions did, since I just used 3.0 and 3.0.1. It seems I can just wait for 3.0.2?

  7. hi ArchTaurus,

I sincerely hope so... since I updated somewhere end of May I can not post anylonger via the App.
I read it should have been solved in 3.0.1, but it had not.

Maybe the solution lies somewhere else, but I tried all options I found on internet. I think I just have to disable the SSL for that particular website.

Nice photo on your website (the rest I can not read :) )

  8. hi Mattijn,
thx :) That small thing in photos is my daughter (it is just 100 days old now). The "rest" is her mother and grandma writing about her. I hope they could write more easily on iDevices (They are using browser to do it now. It's not very convenient.)
I can not wait! But what ever how longer I have to wait for, I should thank this app for the convenience it gives to many other people writing their stories.

  9. So nice system is the WP and so useful is this app should to be! But they just do not work for me.
Could anyone give me some other advice?

  10. Filing a ticket for your SSL issue: http://ios.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/1306

  11. Anything further on this?

Seem the Jetpack group made a design decision not to support self signed certs, but recently changed their minds (http://wordpress.org/support/topic/jetpack-servers-wont-accept-self-signed-certificates). Could this be related?

Self signed certs used to work in iOS, but then were apparently disabled in the summer as noted above.

  12. We should probably revisit this. The problem is that in the old versions the app accepted any certificate, which defeats the purpose of SSL.

Last time I checked, there was no way to manage the trusted certificates from the app, but I'd take another look.

  13. Now SSL can be trusted, thanks.

BUT, the app is always asking me to trust now and then :( hope it will be fixed.

  14. Yeah, iOS doesn't provide any mechanism for us to 'Always Trust' easily, but I have some ideas on how to make it work and I hope to get it there at some point
